who we are
this is d00bie.com, the digital home of matt dietrich — wagga-based photographer, full-time storyteller, part-time chaos wrangler.
what personal data we collect and why
we only collect what we need to keep things running smoothly and respond to you directly.
contact forms
if you send a message through a form on this site, we collect your name, email address and the contents of your message. that info goes straight to my inbox – it doesn’t get sold, added to a list, or shared around.
comments (if enabled)
if comments are turned on and you leave one, we collect what you type in the form, plus your IP address and browser info to help stop spam. if you’re using Gravatar, your profile picture might show up next to your comment.
media uploads
don’t upload photos with embedded location info unless you’re cool with people seeing it – visitors can download and extract that GPS data.
cookies
if you leave a comment, you can choose to save your name and email in cookies for next time. they last a year. if you log in (admin only), we use cookies to remember your login and display settings – nothing weird or sneaky.
embedded content
some posts may include things like embedded videos, maps or Instagram posts. they behave like you’re visiting those third-party sites directly, so they may collect data, use cookies or track your interactions if you’re logged in.
who we share your data with
nobody, unless legally required.
how long we keep your data
if you leave a comment, it stays unless deleted. if you’ve messaged me via a form, your email stays in my inbox unless you ask me to remove it.
your rights
you can request a copy of any personal data we have on you, or ask for it to be deleted — unless we’re required to keep it for legal or security reasons. hit me up at [d00bie at d00bie dot com] to do that.
where your data goes
any comments may be scanned by an automated spam detection service.
